I thought it looked like fun so I joined in and used a pic of me and my husband taken on vacation at the beach.
I need to find a way to make more hours in a day. My project was super annoying to make, not difficult, just tedious, and resulted in numerous hot glue burns... but well worth it. It's a candle holder made from a half of a styrofoam ball..it just screams "SPRING", doesn't it?

I Used:
Cricut; Create a Critter, Flower Shoppe

Quilling tool
Hot glue gun
glue runner
PKS Winter Wonderland Assortment
White & red gel pens
Red chalk
Floral wire
Styrofoam ball cut in half

The process:
Push a candle into the center of the styrofoam ball cut in half. Cut a million (or so it seems) of the spirals from the Flower Shoppe cartridge, use the quilling tool to turn them into pretty flowers securing with hot glue (run burns under cold water). Secure the flowers to the ball using more hot glue (treat more burns). Cut the bee and all it's parts (hiding the face on the Gypsy) and assemble attaching it to the floral wire, stamp the face, color the eyes and mouth, chalk the cheeks, and push the wire into the "flower garden". Treat the burns again, and pour
a glass (or 2) of wine to celebrate.
I watched the awesome Emma (My Creative Time, PK Design Team, crafter extraordinaire) coloring with Copics and thought "that looks easy, I should get mine out". Well it wasn't easy, I had to restart a few times, and it's not perfect...but....I LOVE COPICS. I need more, but hubby said I have to wait...something about a budget (whatever that is, lol).

Kept the card simple because the coloring drove me crazy.
I Used:
Cuttlebug with Spellbinders Nestabilities Lg Scalloped Ovals
Ribbon
Heat set gems and tool
I have been a little obsessed with Shrinky dinks recently, So I decided to make some Halloween earrings for my entry. As I was finishing the first earring my daughter says..."those might have to be mine". So here she is modeling her new earrings.

To start this project I cut some circular shapes with a bump (two circles welded together on my gypsy) out of Crystal Clear Shrinky Dink material. Hint: When cutting this material it helps to cut twice. Then I stamped one side with my Uglies stamp set using StazOn.

Next I flipped over (if you color the same side you stamp it will smudge) and colored my little monsters with Bic Mark It permanent markers. Then punched holes in the little bump area.

Then into the toaster oven to shrink. Then I started the assembally of the earrings, pulled out my pliers, jumprings and other jewlery making stuff and got to work with my little(r) monsters.

I did get them in though, I stamped the shoe with PKS face parts and heat embossed it for a subtle pattern
I used:

Gypsy-Happy Hauntings

Black cardstock- welded shoe base cut

Shimmer purple cardstock- base cut shift

Orange cardstock-layer 1

Black ink pad

Black embossing powder

Embossing heat tool

PKS face parts (angry eyes)

Black ribbon

Cricut 360 #4 and PKS LFIF. For Cricut 360 the challenge was to base the layout or card on the outdoors, and for PKS LFIF was to use a pun or a play on words. I've had this idea bouncing around in my head for awhile and just needed the time to get it done, life does have a way of interfering with crafting time. It's an A2 card, I used shades of pink (and a little black and white), my Gypsy with Create A Critter and George cartridges, MS edge punch, tiny hearts CB folder, my new PKS Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed stamps, some bling, a white gel pen, and colored pencils. I designed the sentiment on my computer using WordArt and printed it on cardstock.

I hope you like it as much as I do!!
So STINKIN' Sweet

close up of the skunk:

Tara Masonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15368727380869396978noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4016981342853977213.post-17815113832242493062010-11-04T10:43:00.006-06:002010-11-04T11:14:13.051-06:00PKS Challenge 40Life has been hectic, and hasn't left me any time for crafting, but today I decided the dishes could wait I needed some crafting time. I really wanted to use something fun in my card, so I chose raffia, perfect for fall. What else is perfect for fall? A scarecrow, of course. I used PPDU and EDPP for all the cuts and inked the edges in brown for a dirty look. I layered raffia under the clothes for the hay (kinda a pain in the butt, but worth it). For the face I used my PKS Monster Mash Assortment (super cute). The pumpkins are the jack-o-lanterns from PPDU with the faces removed with my gypsy, inked the edges with brown and colored the vines and stems with green. Layered frames in fall colors, and more raffia tied, and I called it done.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixmWgMY-VNqkFu5p8TEQBhUBXgoScIZUXi1F3OFKZZ7o1ov5MttztJdQahGDBLQbWW7WVGQ8rSW6PWKSt5fmIOiAB072ojambcoNG89-ezODcTXmpCJsDYLamzow6Ux7xX-Fh0ZhQh4Siw/s320/Scarecrow.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519398280297658722" />Tara Masonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15368727380869396978noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4016981342853977213.post-74946474148701960612010-09-10T15:56:00.004-06:002010-09-10T16:17:48.139-06:00Peachy Keen Challenge 36Another Color/Sketch challenge from Peachy Keen. The requirements can be found here
I gotta say, I am SUPER happy with how this turned out. I've been wanting to do a Thanksgiving card, and the colors worked PERFECTLY!!!! The card is a 5x7 beige base. I used My Create a Critter cartridge for the turkey, using my Gypsy to hide the face cuts so I could use my PKS Create a Critter Faces (medium set). I used a Martha Stewart edge punch, my gem heat-setter to put the bling in the center of the silk flower, and used Distessed Stickles on the turkey's hat.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_SgcA-S8ethiLJgu8pUHSi6Y6fRVOVRTt9ZkZQZari1I0jnRtrrnIRrpcNLsKH4kuAwMg-CsU6dj2GfmfARf4gR3bqJdAKZALMEuBvn3F4xjXKFslAOfHopl1RgbLMtSX05CM__ijP1yg/s320/Turkey.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515410579038507634" />Tara Masonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15368727380869396978noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4016981342853977213.post-30734967333904441502010-09-06T08:39:00.004-06:002010-09-06T08:44:58.663-06:00Birthday CardSo, one of my favorite people is having a birthday, so I just HAD to make her a card. I love these stamps, they're just so darn cute; I colored with Martha Stewart colored pencils. I used my Gypsy to resize the frames (from Storybook)and cut using my Cricut Expression, I embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder, and used my gem heat-setter for the bling.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRi-2_6vg1kJIxZoDkWPmk1i1MjtWpfDMBsbsk05hCr5toNkit_d8JG8L6CthnEqoJvVOJGX4ogFX-GJHx6-O7l7yAsxqWOR0f9m2T6O0LXU_gyeYsp5UpPu7OFIfIsB7EIUSA0HH90O9V/s320/bunny+birthday.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5513811427430219954" />Tara Masonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15368727380869396978noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4016981342853977213.post-82366736812289428062010-08-17T14:09:00.002-06:002010-08-17T14:24:59.847-06:00Peachy Keen Challenge 35My PKS challenge entry...it was a color and sketch challenge. Not quite sure of the final product(I know it's not my favorite, but it's growing on me), but I had A LOT of fun playing with my new stuff. New cartridge, Mini Monsters, new stamps, Monster Mash Assortment, and my new heat tool for setting gems (like an iRock but I found it in the jewelery making section of Michael's).
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHBvGWTZbtbTW2q0FeSL-2EJI1IsPy-0ZWnXaERaEpsbfwrfj2a787Q8HVj61WPyfFQxbh_hJQWHdcx3uLXcM_3iHX89DSrsGxqqm9c0PyiDhVa2e0zaZN3Kvt8MgreqKi7Cn-6XFfUgBL/s320/DSCN2212.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506477381758057170" />Tara Masonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15368727380869396978noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4016981342853977213.post-88675927407140318602010-08-04T12:52:00.003-06:002010-08-04T13:12:34.544-06:00Peachy Keen Challenge 34This was a Sketch Challenge, and as soon as I saw the sketch the idea for this card popped into my head. It's simple-ish, a white on white on white wedding card (now all I need is for someone to get married so I can give it away). I used Spellbinders Dahlia nestabilities, a MS edge punch, the tiny hearts CB folder, and SYI cricut cartridge.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBfI0RddPZKb5Jf7fTfbzjYwEnf92p2Dve8e73Eh2vXJgf9ywsDX5CwEpbhpPteGXkWZ7zzdVyA-FNbytgYXFB939bYbauA5DDS60jc7QZTfZ5oJfMjetQUTdSfEpZ1fTonj4BZ2l2PId4/s320/wedding.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5501631870432941730" />

A close up of the wedding couple, the color is a little off but it shows the detail better. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 302px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwYdfe1WH2dfTS2Vb9kexCHob_bKgOpxlZP07LHHejjvqYdWx-tGpNV9HGr3rAbH2cBapV-qpt9T2lHjO3UItghBAJRbZDzpFetaZNTRCLXlumsQ87Owg4SNptMR_SJlJ2_TW2SdH6vdha/s320/wedding+cropped.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5501632846834327394" />Tara Masonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15368727380869396978noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4016981342853977213.post-72012511736694770602010-07-13T13:25:00.002-06:002010-07-13T13:37:40.846-06:00Peachy Keen Challenge 32Requirements: Create a card or layout (any size) based on your favorite summer vacation destination. I made a 5 by 7 Card based on the pirate themed dolphin watch cruise we went on while vacationing in South Padre Island, TX. It was such a good time, sword fighting, treasure hunt, water gun fights, tattoos (face painting), and other pirate type games.

Anywho, I used my brand spanking new Gyspy to create this card, using Life is a Beach, and Paperdoll DressUp, I also used assorted bling, pencils, markers (gold and silver), pens and of course my PK face stampsTara Masonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15368727380869396978noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4016981342853977213.post-23049062851702284892010-07-05T16:46:00.002-06:002010-07-05T16:49:48.941-06:004th of July Card<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZSVtzsJdijsDv1CxFN-AQ7c3P5o2fGqvl4T3aAmy3V1YXommYEWGaJdp-AIngfT9DwucDWLVjX2agv8k0q1itSVJHRXD3_Fm4wWVfHPXCvOzkJjm8jzbF10GMf8ptejd-z4q4506q80UC/s320/DSCN2137.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5490557882664430706" />
Just a little something I threw together using A Child's Year and Stand and Salute, and a whole lot of SticklesTara Masonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15368727380869396978noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4016981342853977213.post-82349888717971499252010-05-18T15:58:00.005-06:002010-05-18T16:19:21.463-06:00Peachy Keen Challenge 28<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 227px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK81LC3KhDs0MUjez0xe20ZgwvqfY2bNoahch_0txZ5nFTOelDRDh1xA9pzE8PrvrkFcy_kacZzNV2qVwkCmXrhyAgbZ8i05UDagNHFJ6vYgNx26g0Kyb_DMauQywNFp38fRwAjMFbXiFr/s320/Peachy+keen+challenge.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472733295887307938" />

I admit it, I've gotten addicted to stamps. Now everytime I go into a craft store I leave with stamps. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the green edge, my Cricut to cut out the ovals, flowers, and circles for the centers of the flowers. I used flourish stamps and green ink for the background, PK basic faces for the flower centers, and "live, laugh, love" stamps for in the oval.

The words I chose for this card have a special meaning for me now. My mother in law lost her battle with cancer 2 weeks ago, a reminder of just how short life can be. So my goal is to live like there's no tomorrow, laugh often, and love; because there's no telling how much time we've got.Tara Masonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15368727380869396978noreply@blogger.com10
